Dr Chang is a great dentist! He and his staff are very dedicated and detail oriented. He let's you know exactly what needs to be done and options of how soon and how much before you decide on the procedures. The office is flexible with scheduling, which helps alot. There are a couple of parking lots nearby and the Metro as well. So it's still convenient even though I live in MD.I have been a patient in this practice for over twenty years, since it was just Dr. Rothkopf. I've stayed because, frankly, I couldn't see going elsewhere, even after moving to Montgomery County.Thank you So much for your great care. I will greatly miss you in FL. More

I went to Dr. Rothkopf for almost 20 years and was so sad when he finally decided to retire. I no longer work downtown so it takes me 45 min to get to the office, and I swore once he retired I’d move to a practice closer to home. But Dr. Chang, the nurses and the office staff are so amazing that I’ve stayed on! I’d definitely recommend! More

Dr. Jenny Kye at CK Dental is just wonderful! She is technically excellent, very focused on patient comfort, and so easy to talk with on my dental issues. She is fabulous at explaining why a procedure is needed as well as talking me through what she’s doing while she’s performing the procedure. In my last visit, she noticed that I had a cold sore and offered to “zap” it with a laser to minimize it and reduce the pain. I had never even heard of such an option! I really appreciated her focus on what might make me more comfortable. More

I’ve been going to Dr Rothkopf for years and he’s great. He recently added Dr Chang and Dr Kai to his practice and they have brought their expertise, experience and energy into the practice. You cannot go wrong with any of the dentists in this practice, they’re all top notch. Kayla, the hygienist is a Wonder Woman. She explains everything so throughly and really takes care while cleaning your teeth. Dr Kai and Dr Chang are concerned with long term preservation of your dental hygiene and focused on prevention which is great. My dentist retired and I made an appointment for cleaning with CK Dental based on excellent reviews. Cleaning and teeth x rays by Rebecca were exceptional. She found a cracked inlay and in consultation with Dr Chang advised replacement before the infection reached the nerve. I was able to get an early appointment when the office called and offered a same day cancellation slot with Dr Kye. Dr. Kye is personable, extremely competent and professional. She provided a comprehensive explanation of the procedure beforehand and meticulously guided me through each step of the implementation. Dr Kye took more care to prevent pain than I had seen previously and in my case was completely successful. The CK Dental facility is impressive. Rooms are light and airy, many with windows. The dental equipment is new and state of the art. Front office staff are cheerful and knowledgeable. I am more than pleased to have Dr Kye as my new dentist. More

I was apprehensive when I learned that Dr. David Rothkopf had sold his dental practice. Dr. Rothkopf has been a wonderful dentist and I was sorry to hear that he was retiring. I have seen Dr. Kye three times now and could not be happier. She is professional and skilled. I have had decaying materials removed and cavities filled in two teeth and one tooth extraction. Everything went smoothly with each treatment. I am particularly impressed by her injection of the local anesthetic, which is the least painful injection I have experienced, and this in turn has altered my attitude toward dental appointments in ways I had not expected (namely for the better). Dr. Kye also has excellent communication skills, explaining the diagnosis and the overall procedures as well as what to expect next at each key step and after you get home. The scheduling at this office is also very well organized and I have not had to wait at any of my three visits. Overall, a very positive experience. My husband, who has also recently started seeing Dr. Kye, agrees. We were both very satisfied with Dr. Rothkopf and had good feelings about the dentists that he had chosen, but I can say that Dr. Kye has exceeded my expectations and cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks to COVID, I have been clenching and grinding my teeth for two plus years and ended up having to see Dr. Kye for an emergency crown on a cracked tooth. I had numerous old metal fillings replaced and was fitted for a new night guard. Dr. Kye is wonderful at explaining what is going on with your teeth and gums and making treatment recommendations. She keeps you informed and comfortable during your procedures. She's skillful, gentle and really cares about her patients. The office is modernizing, and has the latest technology (and moves to a new space this spring). Everyone who works there from the dentists, receptionists, hygienists and assistants are warm, welcoming and consummate professionals. Scheduling and billing are a breeze, and they are really thoughtful about making sure that I have no surprises about the length of a visit or its cost. More

Dr. Rothkopf has been my dentist since 1996. I came to him because a previous dentist, whose name need not be mentioned, had strongly urged that the lower right eyetooth be crowned, because its small filling was "sure to cause trouble". I hurried out and went to Dr. Rothkopf on a friend's recommendation. He said it would be better to leave the eyetooth until such time as trouble does emerge. The tooth lasted for another 10 years when, upon spotting damage in an X-ray image, the good doctor crowned it. Dr. Rothkopf's maximand is not his short-term earnings but my dental health. And as a result he has my business, and my wife's, and forever. The incorporation of Doctors Kye and Chang in the business has been problem-free. I have valued the dental hygiene work by Kayla, and the careful X-ray photography that enables me to see the problems for myself on screen. Yesterday I had the drilling work for a rear right upper crown done by Dr. Kye and her assistant. The filling was big and the damage deeper still, necessitating much drilling, which cannot be fun of course, but was painless. I was aware of the effective teamwork by Dr. Kye and her assistant. I appreciated another touch: in anticipation of much stretching to get the instruments all the way to the back, the assistant painted my lips with vaseline; otherwise I would have had nasty cracks. I also really appreciated Dr. Kye's consideration of my time constraints -- in the light of which she is "rushing" the manufacturing of the crown in just one week. Full marks to Dr. Kye and her assistant for managing a complex and difficult task. I look forward to the fitting of the crown next week by Dr. Chang. More

Dr Kye is the best dentist I have ever had! She carefully took care of me over several sessions to fix cavities that had decayed. Dr.Chang did my root canal yesterday and I was in and out. He is so efficient and he tells you what he's doing while he's in your mouth... which was nice. The staff is professional and friendly. The office is clean ... I even saw an air purifier. I was impressed. I'm already planning to return for my permanent restoration. If you're looking for an endodontist, look no further!!! More

Been seeing Dr. Rothkopf since he started practicing when I was 12 yrs old! (I’m now 61 and gray haired!) Even when I had different insurance and had to see another dentist, I got a consult with him. He saved me $5k in unnecessary dental work that was recommended by the other dentist. Went right back to Dr. R as quick as I could! Sue is also a great hygienist and I was sorry to hear she is retiring, but happy for her. Gail is an awesome assistant and Nancy was great too (she retired last year as receptionist). Is it odd to enjoy my visits to the dentist? Seriously, this practice is simply the best. All of the dentists are terrific, as are the hygienists and assistants. They are very skilled at what they do, they don't upsell on needless stuff, and they genuinely care about their patients. They are fair, careful, honest, and accessible. Their dental work is top-notch. I have seen Dr. Rothkopf for over 20 years and now I also see Dr. Kye and Dr. Chang. This team's skill and knowledge is so impressive. I feel comfortable with all of them and I know I'm in good hands preventively and as dental emergencies arise. I can't recommend them highly enough and I can't imagine going anywhere else. More

He's calm, super friendly and conservative with your teeth--meaning he doesn't create fake dental problems to make money (a huge, common problem I've encountered with multiple dentists since we have a pay for performance health care system). I'd gone to another dentist who told me that I had 9 cavities, 3 of which would need at least crowns and 2 of those would probably be root canals. Skeptical, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Rothkopf who told me I have...1 cavity. None of the rest is necessary. What a relief to find someone who isn't drilling away my good teeth to make more money. I had something very similar happen when I lived elsewhere and am so relieved to have an ethical dentist I trust now. Be careful, folks, some dentists just want to make more money and will invent problems to make their boat payment.The staff is super friendly and amusing--I'll let you see for yourself. He might not accept all bargain basement health-insurance rolled in dental coverage (only very bad dentists, like my old one, seem to) but I think he accepts most dental insurance. More

Dr. David’s assistant was very kind and let me see the doctor on the same day I called his office. Dr. David professionally removed a piece of tortilla chip without causing any pain (and it wasn’t particularly a small piece). The doctor didn’t even charge me for my visit. If I move to DC in the future, I already found my dentist. More

I second all the other reviews. Dr. Rothkopf is excellent - very professional and friendly, and the staff is warm and helpful (and gentle!). I have been going to his office for almost 4 years now, and will stick with him as long as I live in DC despite the fact that his office is now out of my way after changing apartments and jobs. I've been going to Dr. Rothkopf for a few years now. The other reviewers are spot on. It's an excellent office with a happy staff, and Dr. Rothkopf does great work. I've also been very pleased with Dr. Rothkopf's referrals. It sometimes stinks to have to go to a specialist for things, but I appreciate that he doesn't want to take risks. Both the endodontist (for a root canal) and oral surgeon (for wisdom tooth removal) that Dr. Rothkopf referred me to were great.I am recognized and greeted warmly by everyone on staff each time I go in, and I've never had an issue with billing. I've also never had to wait beyond my scheduled appointment time, which is a huge deal. More

I have been to Dr. Rothkopf 3 times, twice for a cleaning and once to get an Invisalign Express consultation. I can definitely say that he is one of the best dentists I have been to and also the only one I have felt completely comfortable with since leaving my dentist of 16 years in Baltimore. His staff is very friendly and makes you very relaxed and comfortable. The hygienist does an awesome job cleaning my teeth; very gentle but thorough, and I didn’t feel like she was rushing to finish. The receptionist is also super nice and always seems to get me in for an appointment within a week. Dr.Rothkopf himself is very very nice, friendly and most importantly not a crook. He tells you honestly what he thinks you should do in regards to your teeth and if you need work done how much it will cost. My boyfriend comes here too and has had a broken tooth fixed and a few caps replaced. Dr Rothkopf did a great job fixing them and also didn’t charge him an arm and a leg. I would definitely recommend this practice. More
